Alhamdulillah, almost one week passed us behind since this big event. So I decided to story a bit about my SCKLM Volunteer Experience which I think “might” guide the other volunteers that sign up for this big event. Oh and before that, just to let you guys know that this is going to be a long story (since I’m so excited about this event) Oh btw, this post kinda bit mengarut cuz not to many input but selamat membaca! So how did I register for this volunteer position? Well it’s all started when the registration for SCKLM 17 slot is full. My target is to register for the 21km slot but unluckily, the slot is "fully registered" already like less than 8 hours maybe? (what) I still remember the moment when SCKLM open the registration for new SCKLM runners somewhere in January and during that time I’m in the office, around 11AM, me is opening the website yep the slot is still there but when I open it back around 2PM nah already full like whatttttttttt and I can’t stop from regretting it cuz I don’t register it at the early stage of life :’)
Disebabkan sedih yg teramat itu so I decided to register as the event volunteer. I did try this last year, tak dapat but I also keep in myself, mana tahu tahun ni ada rezeki kan and yes Alhamdulillah I got myself choosen for this year! The moment when the organizer texted me about it, I just cant stop from being happy and dancing all around the house. The biggest marathon event in Malaysia and also the event that I had been targeted to go since before so I can see the spirit of the other runners HOW CAN I NOT BE HAPPY WALAWEH
But the journey is not easy, I am actually doing a part time job right now, I need to ask my manager if I can masuk kerja a little bit late on the next day cuz that event take time sampai tengahari macam tu and luckily boss cakap ok hehe. But still, I did struggle jugaklah to get myself to Dataran Merdeka on the night of 20st May. That Saturday balik kerja around 7pm pastu balik mandi mandi masak makan lagi around 9PM dah ready nak keluar rumah. So the struggle start here;
Firstly, terlepas bas MRT sebab lambat turun but luckily bas MRT ni every 15 min ada so Alhamdulillah. Pastu get myself to MRT to go to the KTM, yeah its just good on the MRT but once I have arrived KTM station, I just see that the last train for that day baru je blah and I was like ni macam mana aku nak pergi Dataran Merdeka niiiiiii and oh baru teringat kata MRT actually ada feeder bus from Pusat Bandar Damansara yg pergi KL Sentral. So kalau dah sampai KL Sentral boleh naik LRT pergi Masjid Jamek. Then oklah, I get myself the MRT to Pusat Bandar Damansara. Padahal time tu dah pukul 10.30PM kahkah sepatutnya kena ada sana awal lah but cuz I am still in the train so chill. Ok dah sampai pulak MRT sana that is around 11PM, baru tahu kata last feeder bus pergi KL Sentral baru je blah I was like ahahahaha tahniah farah siapa suruh kau tak plan journey bebetul! (:
luckily the grab still available hiks. So I took grab from MRT Pusat Bandar Damansara directly to Dataran Merdeka which cost RM9. for me, berbaloi for the distance and the driver is friendly also! We did have a nice conversation along the journey!
And finally, arrived at Dataran Merdeka! Well actually volunteer kena berkumpul dekat Dataran Underground which is also a part of Dataran Merdeka but since I never been there before this blur gak ah celah mana nak masuk. Based on what I googled, yg dekat gambar gambar PM PM tu entrance dia then ok lah. Sampai sampai, entrance situ tutupp kah mati aku nak cari entrance yg lain pulak dahlah tak pernah sampai. Luckily, I met another volunteer also at that time, two girl and one boy. MashaAllah they are all so friendly! Yg boy tu he did come alone, Fadzlan ke apa benda F ntah nama dia dia lost jugak actually. pastu camne ntah terdrop dengan 2 orang girls tu sekali sebab sesama tengah cari entrance nak ke Dataran Underground tu. so I did join the club also lah :p and Alhamdulillah jumpak jugak entrance dia. You know that time, Dataran Merdeka is so sunyi and yg ada time tu pun pakcik pakcik polis and some Marshall lah kot. runner semua takde lagi.
so this is what Dataran Underground look likes during that time. penuh beb serius penuh masuk masuk je dalam ni I can't stop from being WOW WOW banyak gilaaaa :O Btw did you guys know that volunteer yg register through online actually sebanyak yg berdiri depan aku ni je? Less than 200 or maybe 150 or less maybe? Em yg bebanyak lagi tu datang mana ya? Budak uni, budak sekolah blabla. I just knew that rupanya SCKLM ni memang ada invite bebudak uni around KL untuk jadi volunteer so no wonder lah kalau kau daftar online tu payah nak dapat sebab slot dia tak banyak. Rasa bertuah gila terpilih :(
lepas daftar semua, duduk jap makan before next taklimat. aku impressed gila tengok bekas dia. properly designed gitu. mesti satu ni je dah berapa hinggit.dah habis makan nak buang pun sayang sbb elok sangat. tapi tulah, kerja kehulu kehilir kot letak apa dalam beg gila. dan oh ya time daftar tu diorang bagi nasi lemak ni, roti, baju, air dengan lanyard volunteer tu. actually baju tu ada size M je tinggal pastu aku macam tak confident lak nak pakai saiz M, so i changed my shirt dengan mamat yg nama Fa apa ntah tu. sbb dia dapat saiz L. ha badan dia pun kecik je pelik pulak pakai L so aku swap jela dengan dia. duduk kejap pastu diorang agih kitorang ikut group. takdela group ikut nama apa pun, ikut geng yg kau duduk sekali time makan tu. dia buat time tu je. so on jela. lepastu diorang bagi taklimat sikit, agih siapa duduk WS, jadi marshall blabla.
to the site we go! time dalam bas ni aku doa gila supaya kitorang dapat yg road half dgn FM, dapat jaga AKLEH amin amin. oh and the rapid bus working free for this event just volunteer and the participant. sambil tu layan view kl malam malam. cantikkk
Alhamdulillah doa termakbul. dapat jaga dekat AKLEH, dapat jaga route HM dengan FM. memang happy non stop cerita dia ngee the road is mine! i'm not sure what time FM punya flag off, around 4AM kot so around 3AM tu kitorang memang dah standby situ lah kemas kemas barang semua. tu lori dbkl, meja kerusi mak nenek semua dalam tu. terkejut jugak bila dapat tahu kata yg nak kena angkat air berkotak kotak semua tu kitorang (girls only) sebab yg guys semua jadi marshall, jaga depan belakang so kitorang je ada yg tinggal dekat tengah tengah ni so em takpelah boleh je angkat. saje mintak simpati. satu kotak botol air 1L tu adala dalam 7KG. ulang alik angkat memang muscle gue peh

oh dan yg tu abang abang buskers. merekalah yg menghiburkan anda ketika berlari itu. tak minat sangat busking apa ni so tak tahu nak explain macam mana.

lepas je yg FM lalu terus kitorang isi balik air. baru FM lalu dah habis air. belum HM lagi waduh HM lagi ramai. memang tak menang tangan wei! berlayer layer jugak cup tu for HM. aku siap bukak meja khas lagi dekat side lagi satu. tak isi air dalam cup lagi pun orang dah grab cup tu ahahaha pastu aku cakap la tu tak isi lagi hahaha. best jaga water station ni satu je kot, terasa dihargai haha sebab time hulur air ada je "thanks awak" "thanks sweetie" lol tak serious aku menangis jugak time tu. i love you guys ;)

and after that, balik. ya balik. tak sempat pun nak belek belek dataran sebab time tu hujan boleh tahan gak. dengan fikir aku kena masuk kerja lagi pukul 3 nanti kang pengsan lak. balik jela. nak balik gi LRT pun dah packed gila. the road conquered!

Conclusion?
I feel the spirit in me when i all of there runners, especially the FM. I told myself that I will do this too one day. Before 25 inshAllah. One day, I will be strong and beat every possibilities. so 2018? nak try HM tapi volunteer cam best seh aura dia semacam. I met some people that i know but tak sempat tegur cuz theyre running so fast!! and ada jugak yg panggil nama saya huhu kenal rupanya kalian. jaga AKLEH serious best dengan view dia, sunrise semua peh. tapi tak berapa best part dia bergegar sebab ramai sangat berlari naik atas tu jelah.. rasa nak runtuh T_T seronok jugak part runners semua senyum and cakap thanks sebab hulur air dekat diorang. paling best bila ada yg cakap "so good la u" sebab aku gi lari sekali dgn diorang semata nak hulur air ahaha padahal kaki memang tengah gatal pun naklari time tu ;D
